Thanks! The next fun step has been saori-style weaving with handspun. It provides an opportunity once again to appreciate the wool, and interact with it even more. I haven't been able to bring myself to do anything with this particular ball of wool, because I love it so much.

We are working on a second duo spinning. I am sure it will be quite different this round, as his spinning has progressed significantly. We have been playing though with trying not to control the wool too much and just try and follow how the wool wants to spin itself depending on its character. I have some wool that has not been carded alot, and very bumpy (Not HelloYarn wool!). So instead of trying to fight the lumps, pick them out, I have been leaving them in.

That is really sweet, I love that you taught him how, and I love even more that you plied yours and his together. And it IS beautiful! And the name is flipping cute! To make this cynical about love (right now, ordinarily I'll rot everyone's teeth right out of their heads the second I start talking about my darling dear [non-existent jerkwad right now, hence cynicism!], and since I am an "all in, balls on the table" kind of girl in one direction or another, total gushy mushy love or total bitchy crabby opinionated and rude hater, you can guess the expression on my face most points in time right now. Kinda like a baby tasting a lemon.) chick squee and chirp and ^_^ face and link to the other cynical about love friend this post... it's a dun gud post! Gosh it's great! What makes it especially neat is the fact that you can see the yarn as a whole, and you can see the "pro" ply and the "newb" ply, and how neat it is because it's pretty difficult once you can spin like a pro to un-learn your skillz and resist the urge to spin as fine as you can make that fiber go and not let it coil up on itself or be under-spun, so this yarn, I think, is pretty unique because you'll never really find a seasoned spinner spinning anything like this. You and your man rocked this out!

When I joined the Fiber Club in 2007, I paid a bit more for the spindle kit option. My first bag of fiber came with a Louet drop spindle and Adrian's guidelines on learning to spin. :)

Thanks Adrian. The wool is beautiful!

It's good you're taking a month or two off. It will give me a chance to catch up on my spinning of the previous months. I'll keep an eye out for the next sign up.

Good luck on the move! It sounds like an adventure!
